We eat a lot of seafood here but I've never had pan fried herring roe I definitely need to try that. It looks delicious.

One design flaw on both the 45 and 46. The driver's desk was sloping, nowhere to safely park a cup even when stationary. Nowhere to really park a cup at the 2nd man's side either. A 45 was responsible for dumping a cup of hot tea in my lap! Passing over a set of points with my cup in my hand loco bounced up, I bounced up, cup bounced up, tea bounced up, loco came down, I came down, cup came down, tea came down only not into the cup

LOL I can well believe it watching this rattle along , The audio on these games is absolutely awesome, They spend a lot of time & money getting the true sounds of each individual train from the engine to the carriages moving over rails. I have a half decent sound system connected to this gaming PC & it can rattle the windows when you move away under load with the station tannoy in the background, Very realistic especially the horns .

On the driver training we were on a 47 in the depot. One guy in the engine room with the instructor, 3 or 4 of us waiting our turn in the cab. One guy looked up at the hatch in the cab ceiling, undid the clips to expose the horns. Before anyone could stop him he lent across and pressed the horn lever, horn full blast straight into the cab! The reaction involved the rest of us questioning his sanity and doubting his parenthood

The loudest noise I have ever experienced by far was during training on the steam heating boilers soon after I started. The instructor took two of us on a run in the rear cab on a passenger service to "play" with the boiler, the loco happened to be a deltic. The boiler in a deltic was positioned in the middle between the two engines, the instructor said ok, go in, shut the boiler down and restart it, trouble was we were on a low speed section of track. Remember this is pre ear protection days, I went in just as the driver cranked the throttle wide open I shut the boiler down, restarted it, back into the rear cab stone deaf, I could see the instructor's lips moving but couldn't hear a thing.
