Default Help please: Inlet manifold pipe connection

Doing some work on my k-series R25, and one of the ?fuel? pipe connectors broke when disconnecting.

Are these connections replaceable, or is it the whole inlet manifold required now?

Well not much of a response, but I'll report back as it may assist someone in the future. The connector was the one for the pipe from the charcoal filter (to reduce emissions).

I saw a replacement K-series manifold on google (LKB106330) and bought it. Unfortunately, when it arrived it was in poor condition, with the jiggle valve butchered beyond repair. I concluded it wasn't worth fitting and got my money back as it was not as advertised.

I tried an Araldite repair on the broken connector, but on testing I was not satisfied it would last, as the break was flush with the face at one point. So I ordered some pipe connectors, a selection of sizes as I was unsure which would fit best. Delivery took a long time due to the current COVID-19 situation...

When they arrived I found the 5mm straight connector to be the most suitable, and did the following:
  1. Blocked the manifold intake with a rag.
  2. Filed flat the remnants of the broken connector.
  3. Cut short and fettled one end of the new connector to glue into the manifold.
  4. Hand-bored a suitable sized hole in the manifold centered on the original hole.
  5. Pushed the connector into the hole, interference fit, so it held in place without glue.
  6. Removed connector and applied the Araldite to the hole and connector surfaces and again pushed the connector in the hole.
  7. Throughout the process, pushed through a drill to clear the hole of glue or debris.
  8. Left to cure for a full 24 hrs before connecting up and using the car again.

Repair seems good.

I have learned to be careful with these plastic manifolds as they do seem to weaken with age...
