Default Dvb

I realise that Seans Units are not DAB, but can you get the Digital stations through the DVB like you can on a free view box at home.

You need the DVB-T box as well Graham to get all the freeview channels, especially now that we have the digital signals instead of the analogue

Yes - it will enable you to get the Freeview terrestial radio channels, when ever you can receive TV reception, but I suspect it will be more limited coverage than DAB.

For reference, there is...

FM - the normal analogue radio system on 85 to 110 Mhz

DAB the digatal audio broadcast system around 220 MHz

The Freeview TV and Radio at around 550+ Mhz

The satellite digital TV and Radio in the Ghz range.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The other thing is as you are buying the android unit you can tether your mobile phone to the unit and then download an Internet radio app and listen to the radio that way.
Just watch your data allowance on your phone tarrif though

I only listen to radio 2, so FM and freeview will do just fine.

Its the Data allowance thats got me worried about this head unit now, thats why Im wanting an offline sat nav.

I have 2gb of data allowance per month, so I imagine that wont last long!!!

I think 2gb of data will be enough for you unless you intend to live in the car playing with the android all day instead of using your PC and phone in the house

why not wire in a pure highway. I installed an extra aux socket hidden away under the dash and put the highway in the glove box, all you see is the stick on ariel on the windscreen.
Reception can sometimes be temperamental, but i think that is a common thing with dab.
