Android Navigation Recommendation/Advice
Just looking for a bit of advice.
I am eagerly awaiting an Android Unit from Sean, and in anticipation I am trying to get everything into place etc... I have only just realised that the android unit comes with no sat nav installed, so Im after people recommendations for download (preferably free). Whats everyone else running on the android units? I do like a 3d sat nav, and The one on Ronnie showed me on his DD looked great (He was telling me how accurate the scenery was when you were passing mountains etc...) I use Navfree on my Phone, but fancied something a bit better tbh, defies the point of upgrading If I used that.. |

I use Waze on my phone which is pretty good. I don't know if it will work on a dd, I would say it will

Google maps/navigation, I've tried others, but as usual Google nailed it

Yes, you can download big chunks of UK maps to your SD card now.

Best get shopping for SD cards then
Has anyone got the D99? Just wondering how many USB there are on the back? Is it 2 (one each side) like the earlier models? |

+1 for Google maps though, easily the best satnav app out there, and it gets better on almost a daily basis. I find the traffic info is very helpful now.

I have tried other freebies but none are as good as Copilot. Tomtom have recently released an android version also and has been tested by Tony Fry on here. When I had my original DD I liked IGO8 best but it looks like Primo is the one to use now.

What a shame about needing connection, so far I see that as being the only flaw over the wince unit.
If like me, you travel daily to places with no 3G, Does that leave me snookered? Navfree on the iPhone had never let me down so far tbh, and doesn't require connection, so may see if I can add that. |

You can still use Copilot without data connection, you just wont have any traffic management.
