Default More problems

Hi Guys

A few months back i informed you all about my drivers seat that will not go off it stays warm all the time. Since i am no good with electrics i pulled the fuse out and i am still getting a warmth through the seat.

To add to my woes NOW the passenger seat will no go back or recline the motor on the drivers seat is fine. Its just dead.

Has anybody come across this before ?

I am going to go to Exeter Road Garage in Newton Abbot because nobody wants to touch a Rover down here and everybody is saying "SCRAP IT" oh you cant get parts get rid. How little they now. Any ideas would be of help.

Happy new year

Chris

If you say you have removed the fuse for the heated seat but it still gets warm can't be the right fuse or the seat has been rewired on a different circuit, if you put the fuse back in does the function to the passenger seat return

The first thing is to find which fuse goes where.--Do you have a wiring diagram for your car ?

Try the easy things first before the costly job of replacing motors etc.

Don't give up on the car. As you know there is lots of info. and help on the forum.

Those doubters are wrong.--

Default Thankyou

I have a wiring diagram in the Haynes manual. I dont understand it though.

I will put the fuse back in see what that does.

The car has done 207,000 i will not give up on the car far from it. Ive had her for six years so no.

Happy new year and thanks again.

Are you absolutely sure the seat is heating up? I say this because i once had a passenger searching my dash for a switch, and when I asked why, he said he wanted to turn the heated seat off. This was on a car without heated seats.

A most disturbing revelation, i worried about it all the way to work. Glad to say there were no dubious stains on exiting, But that could well have turned in to a “scrap it” moment.

Ive taken the fuse out so the switch no longer operate.

Hook it up to a diagnostic that should help.

The passenger one is cold and no longer goes back.
