If we are talking about the upper pinch bolt that holds the strut to the hub carrier , this is what I had to do ........

May be of help if you have just snapped the head off The bolt is only threaded in one half of the hub . In my case the threaded half came out easily with a stilson wrench just getting a bite on the projecting threads ; it was the plain shank which had seized solid and had to be beaten severely !

I have been through this today. I gave up with the upper pinch bolts and removed everything else instead. I had to use a scaffold pole to remove one of the hub nuts.

Go through everything then snapped a strut top bolt by mistake.

Mine was rounded off when i went to start stripping it out, ended up taking the entire strut and hub off together. No success drilling it out so procured a replacement hub, and just finished rebuilding tonight. All shiny new KYB shocks and springs, new delphi drop links, and painted up the back plates. image.jpg

Yep had to do similar on a spare strut from the car I scrapped.

Also had a rounded pinch bolt head that I filed down to the next spanner size, then with a soak in penetrating oil, a couple of good clumps with the lump hammer and using an impact socket it came out.
