Dodge Caliber - Opinions?
Just a bit of idle banter really.. What do you think of these things? The reason I ask, is that with this whole "credit crisis" (I refuse to say crunch) I'm not seeing many 58 plates on the road.. However, saw 3 different 58 plate Dodge Caliber's on the road today, and for £14K I think it's quite a nice looking car.. I seem to recall they got into trouble with this car in the US because the dubbed the sound of a V8 onto the commercials to make it appeal to the market
Anyway, is it just me that thinks they're not all that bad..? I had one as a hire car last time I was in Florida, and it was pretty nice, all be it in bright yellow

I reckon they look a bit like a Talbot Horizon.

I'm actually old enough to remember those! My grandmother had a succession of Talbot's, the last being a poo brown (colour code in the handbook and everything, honest) Talbot Alpine.. Gawd, were they ropey cars!

Eve is far better than whatcar for reviews!!! No technobabble, just spells out what you need to know.
Apparently 'Seedy motel rooms feel more luxurious' than the cabin of the Dodge. I'm going to see what Eve says about the 75 and ZT.

I loved the styling of them, until that is I saw one in a car park for the first time. I then had a peek through the window and decided that I had seen better quality plastic fall out from a cereal packet!!!!
The interior was just awful, but then maybe we are somewhat spoiled with the interior of the 75! |

Americans never could do interiors, could they? I mean, I absolutely drool over the Chrysler 300C, it's just drop dead gorgeous - But have you sat in one? It's like being entombed in Jordan's wardrobe! Honestly, the seats are a strange leatherette type vinyl (even though they claim to be leather) and the're cheap plastic everywhere! A real shame, becuase it's stunning to look at.

IMHO some of these American type motors are "quirky" looking at best. However, I agree with you on the Chrysler 300 - meaty and gorgeous! I did like the PT Cruiser when it first appeared. As for the Plymouth Prowler......

I bought my 75 from a Dodge dealership. Within the first week the exhaust went, took it back asked them to sort it. While they were waiting for the part(???) I had a brand new 2.0d for two weeks. Quite liked it, very easy to drive but yep the plastic is rubbish. Came with an excellent sound system though big sub in the boot etc.
