This is after 4 weeks , i guess the humidity and condensation in the engine mostly water but with oil....Stopped it going into the manifold...

On my last ZT190 i fitted a catch tank but caught nothing ,since then i have read different views . Some say fit a tank so your butterflies and vis motors wont die and some say dont fit a tank because it lubricates your butterflies . There doesnt seem to be a hard and fast rule , so what do tou do ? Theres also a grey area on what pipes you plumb the tank into . I even asked a mechanic his view on the subject and he just shrugged his shoulders and smiled , i took that as a dont know.

I believe you are better off leaving it as is! positive crankcase ventilation actually draws fumes out of the crankcase which is good for keeping the internals and more importantly the engine oil clean. A catch tank is good for racers that change the engine oil every meeting, but a road vehicle is a different matter, with different priorities.

I would recommend the following
Unblock cam cover breathers Replace cam cover breather gauzes Fit catch can My ZT has been running after doing the above and all is good. Catch can was 1\4 full after 12 months so stopping gunk going through the intake. Most cars will have blocked cam cover breathers by now unless a diligent owner has had it done on service
