A selection of pics from my trip to RAF Fairford yesterday. It was an absolute scorcher, which was a pleasant change from last year's trip when it was heavily overcast all day with the occasional shower thrown in for good measure - which meant 'flat' routines for most aircraft and others that couldn't display at all. No such problems this time though, with over eight and a half hours of unrestricted flying.

Nice set of pics, thanks for sharing. I just got back this evening.

There were some star moments and items in the show, but sadly, the long awaited large formation of Typhoons was abandoned as the largest shower/storm we had was battering Swindon on Friday and we got some of the residue. Still we got a diamond nine ship instead. Luckily no incidents.

9 Typhoons cruising over in formation make less noise than a single F-35 with its afterburner lit up. In fact it's the loudest fighter I've heard since the days of the EE Lightning and the F4 Phantom.

Only on static display unfortunately, it would have been nice to see it in the air.
Luckily caught it flying out yesterday, amongst the other two hundred and twenty-six that I saw go out.

The C-47 flew over my house a couple of days ago before doing a 180 and doubling back - think it was heading to Wolverhampton Airport.

Sounded good.

Default Friday

I was there on Friday in the viewing village courtesy of my parents

Some utterly awesome flying and aircraft.

This made me chuckle ...a Jaguar TF done up like a WW2 fighter complete with rivets.....
Think Wendy would draw the line at that:duh
