nothing on message centre , was wondering if it could be ignition switch itself but think i will try the fuse removal first ,

Just as an aside Every time I switched the engine off I had a Bleep could not understand what it was until It dawned on me that I had my phone on charge via the cigar lighter socket and it was the phone bleeping.when switching off
Not something like that is it

Still a possible button press on the key .Not intentionally i know , but try putting the key in the switch other way up, Ive had this happen to me .

May be a red herring but I am sure I read on a LR forum years ago that a single beep when locking but the doors lock OK indicates a battery problem. As the Freelander1 shares a lot with our cars this may be worth mentioning.
If a door/boot/bonnet is open then you get the same beep but the doors will not lock. I cannot remember if it was the Remote battery or the car battery tho? |

Either as above, or, you are removing the key to quick as you turn the ignition off.

My 75 also does this occasionally.
I am sure I do not press any buttons so have been unable to pinpoint the problem either. The only good thing is that it has not caused any problems during my 2 years of ownership so I have just accepted it as one of the cars more quirky features. |
