I had an advise on the inner tie rod last mot but when checked could only find slight play on outer ball joint ,nothing on the inner tie rod . hence changing out my bottom arm , Taking the chance to paint the subframe while arm removed

Dropped off some paperwork this evening and couldn't resist a photo showing just how well suited the 75 was to their property.

1 2 3 They now match the Unipart discs i put on back in 2018 4 5 I was going to change out the rear also but they looked alright so just cleaned then up, i will change them at the end of September

Car failed the MOT yesterday with lots of corrosion around the sills/jacking points. Not giving up on her just yet though. I plan to get myself on a welding course later this year and have a go at repairs before consigning her to the scrappy. have spent too much time/effort so far (and have 4 boxes of spares in the attic). it will just have to be a long term project to get her road-worthy again, as long as the rot isnt extensive inside

I think this will outlive the silencer and as the tourer has the same exhaust silencer, I'm going to measure the dimensions and make another. It just seems a shame you can't buy the part and would have to buy a new exhaust for a separate part. |

I decided to remove the rear nearside wheelarch plastic cover and see what was under the cover. Very little dirt, and small amount of surface rust towards the rear of the wheelarch body. Nothing really. Cleaned the dirt off and covered it in Waxoyle and also did the upper arm again. And covered the lower arm in Waxoyle.Replaced the plastic cover, and jobs a good one. Will do the same on the other side tomorrow if the weather is ok. Quite enjoy faffing about and seeing what is going on underneath..

Helped the FIL change the starter motor on his diesel tourer.
Thankfully read Arctic’s “how to” previously, which helped a lot. Pity that photobucket has hijacked the photos.😢 That rear securing bolt proved difficult to access with all the coolant pipes and electrical loom in the way, but got it eventually! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
