Default Front Spot Light Problem

Hi all,
I recently installed front spot lamps to my 2000 Rover 75 with a genuine Rover spot lamp kit which included the relay, lamps and wiring harness and replaced the complete light switch in the car. The spot lamps work OK but I do not get a display on the dash so I don't know if the lamps are on or off when driving. How can I resolve this?

I take it you are referring to the fog lamps at the bottom of the bumper??
If so you replaced just the front panel of the light switch module?
Then the top right icon would usually light in the centre of the ipk to let you know.

Can you post a couple of pics as the standard fog upgrade does not have a relay and if not specific to the 75 then would not communicate with the ipk

The MGR fog lamp accessory kit includes the relay which plugs in to the engine fuse panel.

Do the ZCS codes have to be updated for the IPK icon to work?

No, the ZCS codes did not need to be upgraded to illuminate the lamp on the front panel on my car (Pre owing a T4)

Reading his first post it seams he replaced the full unit and not what you said, when i upgraded my last 75 which was a club model I did exactly what you said and all worked with no issues.

the LSM normally carries the mileage and throws a trip ERR message if the correctly coded unit is not in place....

does anyone have a pic of the spotlamp kit??

You only need to change the front panel of the LSM that incorporates the front fog lamp switch, it is also part of the MGR kit, part no. XBQ100820.

Default Front fogs

i fitted front fogs on my mk2 connie which didnt have them. i created a kit of my own which I put together from ebay and scrappies based on what I learned on this site:
The lights
The loom
A relay
The front part of a lsm with the fog switch

All worked fine, including the dash telltale. No t4 required.

Thanks for the replies so far,
Attached are copies of the installation and wiring diagram for the Rover 75 spot light installation. As you can see from the instructions the fitting of the spot lamps is not too difficult but must have done something wrong as there is no indication on the dash whether the lights are on or off.
