Parking Sensors Again
Changed me car August last year, Conny SE CDTi Auto Tourer
Everything was fine till Thursday just gone. Selected reverse and got the long beeeeeeeep. Turned the engine off then turned the ignition on without starting the engine. Selected reverse and checked for the sensors for clicking sound. Couldn't hear anything, no clicking from any of them. Me thinks. All sensors wouldn't fail all at the same time so is it the case of:- 1) One sensor failing stops the others from clicking. OR 2)That junction in the loom failing stopping the sensors clicking. Could members in the know please advise what to check first and in what order to check things in. ANY advice will be gratefully recieved. Al

You are right re 4 sensors failing all at once- i had the long beep 2 years ago - it was corrosion in the connector that bridges the sensor loom to the parking ECU.

The parking ECU is on the RHS behind the trim at the rear of the tourer as you look at it -the bumper has to come off to reveal the connector between the ECU and the 4 sensors .

And the ECU is white in later cars and black in earlier cars - as you have an 03 would think it will be a white box - 5 inches square.
