Default Remote Locking via Key Fobs not working after Battery Jump started

As the title suggests both Key Fob remotes are not locking or unlocking my wife's 1.8 75.

Have checked various fuses in the passenger side fuse box with the newer mini fuses, namely fuses 1,8,31,36 and 45 and all appear to be intact, so at a loss as to why both remotes are behaving in a useless fashion.

The Keys working to open and lock the car and indeed start it, but the remote facility is going to annoy the Mrs and my ears as a consequence.

Any ideas in the form will be welcome.

I did the thing of pressing one of fobs lock 5 five times as was suggested by someone but not sure that is the correct way to do things.

Anyway as said need some input from some of our more experienced members please.

Regards

Some time ago a local member had the same problem including no joy with the re-sync or battery disconnect, but then shorted the main battery leads together (not connected to the battery) and then the sync worked. Wrote about it at the time, will see if I can find it again ...

Hey Vitesse,

Very pleased to say that the process of :

1) Disconnecting Battery from terminal Leads then

2) touching the disconnected leads to each other

WORKED and both remotes are now operating normally.

No doubt that touching the battery leads together must rid the car of any remaining charges in capacitors and the like.

Nice to hear, I very much like simple and inexpensive solutions. A few people have now been helped by the "Norwegian Reset" - let's hope people remember it
