Only had my latest one (No. 4 - much to wife's displeasure), less than a month, and already love it , so far done modified compensator (thanks Arctic), EGR by pass, Air filter change, fitted Android Satnav/entertainment system...
Oil, oil/fuel filters & PCV changes to do this weekend if weather holds up... more bigger jobs to be done when funds allow.. This is the third time i have come back to 75/ZTs after buying more modern cars in recent years, They don't have that "draw" for me the 75/ZT has... it seems I can't do without one!! I agree there fewer on the roads these days, do a lot of driving for work and hardly see any round Lancashire/Cheshire/Merseyside. Maurice |

Wouldn't be without mine, every drive is a joy. When parking in a supermarket car park there is usually a big area where few others park. That's where I park mine, where everybody can see it and walk around it.
Seen several chin strokers pause and look. Then I get in, smile knowingly, and drive off slowly...into the sunny uplands...nonchalantly of course. Past all those euroboxes and lease-rentals costing their owners fortunes. Not that I'm smug or anything.

You know when
If I recall correctly (which I probably won’t!)
There was a documentary years ago that featured a lot of custom cars, there was a cortina called ‘satisfaction’ owned by Jeff Uren who said his greatest pleasure was looking at his cars reflection when driving past shop windows. I think we can all relate to that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jeff Uren, that brings back fond memories,he used to convert MK 2 Cortina's into V6 3 litre powerplants, a friend of mine had a rare Jeff Uren converted Cortina estate,in those days it was the fastest car I had ever been in,he sped past a Granada police car which decided to go after us,my mate panicked and decided to go for it,the Granada had no chance to keep up,it was only us three passengers in panic made him stop, the copper was probably so peeved off by being burnt up said he thought we were robbers and we all ended up in the police station. My mate had a lot of explaining to do when he went back to work,he was a police cadet!Regards Ry.....

Hi,I also have an x351 XJ Jaguar,I admit it is smooth, plenty of power, comfy, well equipped but relatively boring to drive,it has presence but lacks character.90% of the time I prefer to drive my manual diesel MK1 Moonstone 75 saloon. It somehow is a more involving drive and a pleasure to see it stand out from the rest. The Jaguar was a bucket list car,if I didn't have it I would unsorn the launch car which has been in my garage for nearly two years!

Would that have been the Cortina Savage, or were they someone else.
I once had a (bog standard) 1966 Mk1 Cortina GT, and was constantly being told that it wasn't a genuine one, because it was a 4 door. I did eventually (pre internet days) satisfy myself that Ford made both 2 & 4 door GT's

Hi,yes indeed, they were rebadged by him and called Savage.Last one I saw was at the classic car show in Birmingham a few years ago.I ended up with a V6 powered 1600e built by someone,it had racing cams which would not tick over under about 2000 revs, lowered with adjustable shocks, twin brake servos, headers, overdrive,I had a Holley four barrel carb conversion made for it,lsd, twin exhausts, custom fuel tank between rear axle for weight distribution etc, being a youngster it was just a lads car,it is only now I appreciate what it was built for,the track.Regards Ry...
