Default Metal coolant pipework behind the rad - failed.

Hi my Rover 75 V6 is in the garage because of a water leak, apparently its coming from the metal pipework behind the radiator but the part is NLA so they are trying to obtain a stainless steel aftermarket part, has anyone else had this? Sorry I don't know the part number they only described it as the 'metal pipework behind the rad'

Its a year 2000 2.5 V6 Auto.

There are two types of coolant pipe, one is larger in diameter than the other. In my experience it’s the later (thinner) ones that fail more, these are available at rimmers in stainless steel.

Hi Stephen,

This thread should be helpful to you. Rimmer's is listing just what you're looking for: part no. PCP 102 532SS but it's expensive so make sure that the diagnosis is correct and it's not just a leaking hose joint.

The fat pipes (not stainless) - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-PCP102532SS
The thin pipes (stainless) - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-PFV000090SS

The change from fat to thin was chassis 235720 (I think!).

14 & 19 here - https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001584

Chaps thank you so much!! I called the garage, unfortunately it seems its the £177 pipe that has corroded and is dripping.

Simon & Stephen,

I have good news. I have just phoned Rimmer Bros. and if you order this part (SS suffix) it will definitely be stainless steel.

£177 is a crazy price.

There's a cheaper one here and it's stainless. The part number matches this but I can't tell from the pic whether it's the same shape/size etc. I'd get in touch with the seller before I bought it.

Ah, so the SS suffix was right all along then. (Post 3)

Thanks Simon. My VIN number is much earlier than 235720 so definitely the fatter pipe. Never mind, if it needs to be done, and a result being SS too (the garage did comment on the replacement being SS.

Don't forget Rimmer's price excludes delivery, so if you want any more stuff it's probably cheaper to get it at the same time.
