Throttle lag V6
My yr 2000 2.0 V6 is a lovely drive except for one really annoying habit - when changing gear the revs "hang" or even rise slightly when you take your foot off the gas.
It's only for a very short period but the revs still haven't settled sometimes even when engaging the clutch for the next gear. Is it me? Or are they all like that - can a T4 visit assist with this or even TOAF? Makes me look like a learner driver, not quite got the coordination right when doing a Gear Change. No doubt somebody will come along and mention transmission shunt, driveability etc etc but the car is fitted with a dual mass which is supposed to smooth out stuff. Anybody had this quirk and fixed it - I would love to know - many thanks. |

They do tend to do this depending on gradient of the road, the only thing to check is your vis motors are working correctly, otherwise raise your right foot slightly until the gearbox changes.

Is your car an automatic ???---You talk about changing gear and coordination of a gear change.

Yes, indeed it is a manual car - the words clutch and gear change, oh and perhaps dual mass would rather tend to give the game away

Could be worth checking that your throttle is free and not sticking when you take your foot off the accelerator
