I'll summarise what I've done so far Simon
The lens exhibits the same symptoms on four different bodies. None of my other lenses, either OEM or third party, show the same problem. An identical borrowed lens on my camera body works perfectly. An identical lens I "tested" at Jessops on my camera body works perfectly. I'm satisfied that the lens is at fault |

You may well have resolved your problem by now, but if you're anywhere remotely near the Canon service centre I can thoroughly recommend their friendly and knowledgeable service. They're based just off the A41 near Edgware (stick their address into Google Maps): Unit 130 Centennial Park Centennial Avenue Elstree Hill South Borehamwood Elstree Hertfordshire WD6 3SE Tel: 0844 369 0100 Fax: 0844 892 0849 I used to have an EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens myself, which I used very happily for several years on my EOS 3. When I converted to digital photography I bought an EOS 5D with the EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM, but I do still hanker after that bit of extra reach now denied me, although the wide end is pretty useful. Hope you get things sorted out OK

Lehmann Limited must work some funny hours.
I've just had an e-mail saying that my lens was repaired and is going to be shipped on Tuesday |
