1.8T Full Engine - New For Sale****NOW SOLD****
I have for sale a 1.8T bare engine that I have built from new parts surplus to requirements. It has been built meticulously.
New Block, oil pump, mains, big-ends, pistons, liners, cylinder head, camshafts, tappets, timing belt, tensioner, water pump. The crankshaft was taken from a 30k miles engine and as you can see from the photos was in pristine condition. Engine is fully assembled and timed up. Photos below show some of the work. Looking for £1,000.00 plus postage cost, which I believe may be in region of £60.00. Engine is located in North East Scotland. Last edited by Lovel; 5th January 2019 at 21:54.. |

Wow, that is impressive, and would make interesting figures when one quotes the mileage on a car.
Was that a project, or hobby? |

Always hoping for a turbo project to drop into my lap, and also enjoy making things. There are so few MG Rover motors up here now, but I Just can’t resist an engine build though. The 1.8 is so simple, clever and a well engineered design in my opinion with so many modular parts that fit between the range. In last three years fully built. 1xV8(P6), 2xKV6, 2x1.8K’s, 1x1.6K, so like to keep hand in when can. Unless a scrapyard candidate comes along, I think this will be my last as genuine (NOS) parts and cars are becoming scarcer. The last turbo engine I built, same as this one, the guy who purchased it came from Middlesbrough to buy it. He got more than he bargained for though as he ended up getting a career with my employer but that was 7 years ago now, sadly! He still employed and and still has the car with engine purring away nicely. Last edited by Lovel; 6th January 2019 at 11:35.. |

I can vouch for this having seen it in the flesh. What a job he has done on this engine. Like new but better.
