Thumbs up

A glimmer of hope at least, still keeping everything crossed.

good bit of news then Rob, that sign was not there on Saturday when I went up, gave you a ring before I left, but got your answer machine, so this Saturday then I have a sneaky feeling that it may have something to do with the bouncy castle people, if so they wanted our field this time last year when I went to see the girl who was running it for Doug.

The chap was offering a cut from what he took, so if it is them I think we have a chance of a space on the land somewhere if not the same field.

Great work Rob, Steve.

These are brilliant meets, although I haven't made it up for too long now. The help and support from owners to owners far and wide is invaluable. Hoping I'll make it up to at least one meet this year.

Hi Ben.
Hope you are keeping well & and you are getting somewhere with your cars now, yes would be good for a catch up if you could make a meet this season.

I have just had a drive to the FA and the doors were open so I went in, spoke to a lad named Shaun whom informed the manager is a chap named Damon , and that they have a 5 yr contract but as we know most the contracts do not get to the end base.

Damon was busy on the phone and also sorting out some electrics they are having done, therefore I passed my phone number to Shaun whom said he would pass it on to Damon .

I have also contacted Rob ( trebor ) who said if he can he may pass by later today if not Saturday.

Hopefully it will go good for us once again Arctic

Ok just seen the new tenant at the Four Ashes, Damon, who is happy for us to continue with the Nano meets without any changes to our existing arrangements. He was not aware of our meets and I said I would drop the 2020 dates in over the next few days.

The reopening is now delayed though and earliest will now be Tuesday 25 Feb so watch this space for the exact date when I know it.

In the meantime the 1st Social evening meet set for Tuesday 18 Feb is cancelled until the Ashes reopens.

Damon is medium height and I would say in his mid to late 30s, he has a lot of experience in the pub trade at Telford but doesn't have any other pubs at the moment so can hopefully concentrate on making the Ashes viable again

I would like to thank all those trying to get the Meets up and running again. I know it’s early days yet, but perhaps we can help the new owner to make it a success by find out if he would be able to ‘make breakfast’ for us like the other owner used to do a couple of years ago. Let me know when you are going to really introduce ourselves to the owner Steve/Trebor, And perhaps some of us could go over for an introductory night drink/meal to associate ourselves with Damon. Great work by a great team of organisers,Trebor and Steve.

Never managed to make one of these meets yet, but intend to this year - they look great!
