Default British Grand Prix, what is going on?...

This bombshell has just been released, a very sad state of affairs, if we lose this it will be a sad day for motorsport in this country and everwhere else.P.

No British GP is unthinkable and Bernie knows that

Just a thought as I have never been there, is it possible to put track down on the infield at Rockingham?

The Americans would love it. All the cars on the same bit of track only turning left.

i was at Donnington Park only a few weeks ago and although the place may be full of heritage, and i dont mean to put it down holding the F1 there is a whole new ball game and would make us a laughing stock with the rest of the world when you compare it to other circuits, and you just cannot picture the F1 circus coming to town there.

I know they intended to spend some money on it before the grand prix, but the latest figure i read was £1.5m, that will do very little at todays prices and it would require much much more.

If the company cannot even pay its rent then the idea seems dead in the water, maybe Ecclestone should use some of his millions to build us a world class circuit

I love F1, but the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- we call circuits in the UK are rubbish by comparison of the new ones now coming about and being used.
Silverstone is so poor by modern standards should have been dropped years ago.
You can't race on memories of past years.,

To update any of ours would cost loads of Millions of £ not the minuscule amount stated, which wouldn't even build decent Pits complex!

This is the same reason why there is no more French Grand Prix. On the other hand, solutions are being checked to hold a GP nearer to Paris where the glam is

Maybe you're right on the facilities, John, but for the racing, it's one of the best in the world - certainly one of the fastest.

And it's the easiest for UK fans to get to.

And it's the easiest for most of the F1 teams, which are UK based, to get to.
