If it's any consolation, a few years ago I crashed my beloved Triumph Sprint ST by not checking the brake pads when I knew they were worn. Didn't know they were THAT worn, so when I braked gently, the pads, or at least the metal backing where the pads ought to have been, grabbed the brake disc on the right, pulled my bike immediately to the side and threw me off up the road. Picked the bike up, went home, cried and pulled it apart. Got all new plastics, well, second hand, and fitted them. Took the bike out for a shake down ride, and guess what? Yep, FORGOT to do the brakes in my excitement of having the bike back looking like a bike. Touched the brake to just slow a teeny bit, and BAM! On my bum again. New lot of plastics had to be sourced, but the very first thing I did, after I cried some more? Yep, the brake pads!

Hope my idiocy makes you feel a bit better!

Hang on in there Zedhead...with almost everything done the light at the end of the tunnel must now be brighter than the one behind you.

One of my favourite sayings:

"The best way to get anyone to make mistakes is to put them under tight time pressure."

I've seen it so many times in all sorts of scenarios.

It takes as long as it takes to complete it properly.

As above. Chin up - It'll get there in the end.

Besides, you probably have the only ZT in the Tipton area. I've never seen one, and I've lived here over 5 years!
