Almost all of my home lighting is now LED, none exhibit any glow after switching off. I have no circuits using gadgets which operate by sourcing power in series with lamps, all have a proper neutral.

I changed the front courtesy light (the only one the 45 has) for the Honda Accord executive type as this has built in map reading lamps. Have not noticed any additional battery drain and starts first turn of key after 2 weeks in an airport car park. |

I'd be interested to know if the same phenomenon occurs with the 75.
I think Ronnie said he's upgraded his and it doesn't happen?

Fitted LED's front and rear in the 75, and there is no dim glow when they go out, they work perfectly.
Think the 75 must use a different dimming control system. |

Perfectly, apart from the rapid flickering as they dim, due to the PWM style of dimming.

I fitted white, as I needed the extra light they gave out.
Have also swopped the bulbs in the vanity mirrors in sun visors to LED too.. a great improvement. |

Actually, I think it may be something to do with the lamps themselves having a slow discharge. We have brand new LED style GU10's at work, and they don't glow when you switch them off, whereas the old LED GU10's that these replaced did, and they are the same fitting.
I can only assume that the glow is from the manufacture of the bulbs with a capacitance discharge slowly ebbing off, and the LED's requiring such a minimal energy source to power that they "glow" upon switch off. Presumably the car interior led's are the same. I'll know more when I take some lamps home from work, just to check and make sure, you understand. |
