CD changer problem.
The CD changer in the boot of my diesel 75 conn has stopped working. I found that there was a little water ingress when I removed it for inspection. I took the cover off and found that there was very little moisture inside.I then refitted it in the car, but still not working, the radio and cassette are fine, but the CD not working. Is there a fuse somewhere that I am not aware of? Maybe an inline one?
Any suggestions gratefully received. |

Mine did this when the boot became a swimming pool. I left a de-humidifier running in there (once I solved the leak issue and de-watered the boot and carpets!). It dried out and came back fine. Took a while though.
And then it was not playing several CD's, until I realised I'd put them in upside down! |

Hi Arryhall. Where was your boot leaking? I think I may need to look into this.

Water gets in through the rear light clusters. The seal for the lights needs cleaning and glueing (It has a split)

All the original seals have a glued join, part of the manufacturing process. The glue deteriorates and the join opens. There are numerous possibilities for water getting into the boot but the light seals are the main culprits. There's also the securing nuts for the panel trim, clips at the bottom of the rear screen, the boot lid seal itself.
