Side lights and dipped beam
Annoyingly, I had a side light go the other week, and I replaced it with a generic bulb that is a different colour and brightness. I would like to replace both bulbs (because if one went, the other may) with the brightest possible lamp, because that stupid, insipid yellow glow is utterly useless and just annoying. I'd actually like some output of lumens if possible. Anyone got any suggestions?
And then tonight, the dipped bulb went. In the dark. And the rain. They are projector lights in that they have the round bulbous glass inside the headlight (Mark I type headlight, I think, the one with the 2 separate looking round glasses) but no idea if it's HID or just a bulb. Going to look in the NOT rain and dark. I'm hoping it's just a bulb I can replace myself easily. IF it is, are there any recommendations for awesome light emitting and decent lifespan lamps? I'd like better light from my dipped beam, but my main beam if pretty darn good. Thanks for the help, this forum is probably the best forum for information on the interwebs in sheer knowledge and helpfulness. |

If you don't have a silver box on the back of the light, they'll be normal halogen bulbs like this

You'll get more light output from LED side bulbs. You need CAN-bus friendly type. The recommended dipped filament bulbs (H7 55watt) are from Osram or Philips.
Persistant side and headlamp bulb troubles can be down to chafed wiring. The weld seam on the body near the screen washer reservoir is usually the culprit. TC |
