Rover Tomcat opportunity??
I know nothing about these cars other than that they have their own loyal fanbase so perhaps this might be of interest. Buried away in a strange sort of ebay listing for a ratty Mk1 Escort is mention of this Rover.
Ebay listing is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-escort-mk1/113599109560 and, of course, i have no connection to the seller. In his words "the rover turbo has no rot,the interior is very good, engine and box are brill no overheating probs i left it running for a hour today.paintwork is not to bad but not perfect it was painted about 6 years ago.i have full logbook for both cars.now these cars are definatly not 100 quid but open to sensible oferes ,im sick of idiots and ive got no time for them, any info 07400131426,lots of questions already i may take a tax exempt classic in px for the rover.to answer all the stupid questions, more picks in the week when i get it of the ramp, and no i wont take a grand for either of them, these are both rare cars, tomcat has never been welded and dosnt need any,ive just done full service put new brake pads on the rear, and changed all the fluids quick car and getting thin on the ground."

I never bother with ads if the seller's stroppy even before it's sold.

Me neither, I always think it gives you an idea of what you'd be dealing with if there's a problem.

He's right about one thing, there are precious few remaining.I hope it finds it's way into the hands of an enthusiast. His attitude isn't the best,it sounds as though he's had one or two chancers making enquiries, ebay is sure to provide more.If I wanted the car and could get it at the right price I would overlook his saltyness and drive it off into the sunset without giving him a second thought. If I encountered a problem I would sort it myself. These cars in the right condition can be valued at 6K plus, so if he's looking for 1-2K it leaves lots of room to spend a bit on it.
