Just an idea. You could buy the contact set for repair, and if you think you have time, around an hour, you could repair the old one and still have a new one in reserve.

So today I went out and removed the motor, I went to undo the nut holding the cable and it sheared, removed the motor and it then became obvious why it was sparking, the nut had not been done up tight, there was a 5mm gap.
The cable had welded it self to the nut and the nut welded itself to the stud Put the replacement one on and....................nothing ......just a click, all the cable ends have been cleaned and the small plug as well, time for another starter motor then. |
