Yes, I used it on mine, followed by AUTOSOL metal polish. The proper kits are better as they usually come with a UV sealant, but I used FLYEYE TINT on mine after cleaning and all is well 12 months later. Lee.

You'll need elbow grease in proportion to the amount of fogging. Badly fogged/yellowed lenses need medium and fine abrasives to remove the bad layer before using a polish to smooth out and add lustre to the new surface. Polishing plastic is best done with a plastic polish rather than a metal/brass polish. I guess if you have metal polish to hand, it's good enough but probably more work.

As the Autosol is more abrasive it's a waste of time using brasso first...

I would stay well away from brasso.

It contains a lot of ammonia, which attacks many plastics, and could make your problem much worse. It can take months for the embrittlement to take place.

The same goes for some of the bodyshop compounds. You need to use ones designed for 2k or synthetic paints. The old ones for cellulose can attack clear plastics...

After 1200 use 2500 then G3 compound. I used a Meguiars stage 2 polish after that as well before applying some sealant, and got some pretty good results.

I'll give it another go and try the Meguiars stage 2 polish, sounds like good gear, thanks.

Hi,

If you're around on Saturday (16th) and can make it to the Midlands nano meet at Four Ashes I'll have a look and see what I can do to help.

Andy.

I used Meguiar's plast x. headlight restorer, if your lights are heavily oxidised, then using wet and dry first may help.
