You've all got me a little worried now. I had my car lights to come on as soon as I turned the key ,via the T4 option by Keith from Ellesmere as I was fed up of being invisible by other roads users. It went through the MOT with no problems but am i thinking the tester was being lenient..Also will having the lights constantly on cause any issues with the LSM in the coming future .
Happy New Year all Johnny

Well that's the reason why it works for you and not for me then Graham, the part number of mine is YWC106950 and upon comparison of the memory dump of each, they are configured quite differently
So it would seem the best course of action for someone suffering from lack of sidelights is to back up an LSM from another car with the same part number, rather that relying upon a "fix" which may or may not work Brian |

Hi all,
Found it most easy to ask for advice in this old thread as it suits my issue very well...So here is a muffled "help" from a foreign Norwegian member... I have played around with TOAF and DRL settings on my newly acquired -99 1.8 and have now lost my sidelights.... I did not take a backup before I started... Seems like this thread answers the most regarding this issue!?! There is a LCM file to download in this thread that have worked for several members with this issue, but I read that your advice is not to do it as it migth not suit my specific LCM. The file seems to be not available from the link anymore anyway... So, it seems that taking a backup from the LCM in my V6 and transfer it to the 1.8 might be the best option? The V6 has a build date two weeks later than my 1.8 so i assume the LCM and settings from factory are the same, but I can check this through TOAF? Is there any modifications needed to be done to the backup file before tranfering it to the 1.8? Any advice are greatly appreciated Last edited by beinet1; 27th November 2020 at 21:17.. |

Hello Einar, I would imagine after restoring your LSM using the file from your other car, the only thing you would need to change is the VIN number and mileage to match the car it is being installed on. I might be wrong of course, I couldn't get TOAF to work in that respect. Alf |

Check the part numbers are the same on the LSMs then as above it's just a case of changing the vin/mileage with Toaf, if you don't change then you'll end up with an "ERR" message.
Good time to add the digital display if you've got a trip computer. Regards |

Changing the mileage/VIN, this is something I need to do after transfering the backup to the car? |
