We have some close relatives who live within sight of Manston and they made and delivered lots of sausage rolls to the drivers. They were roundly abused by a local woman for their pains. Unbelievable. They happened to meet the German Amabassador there - I'm told their pic might be in the Daily Wail.

Disgusting behaviour
Agree, by the likes of Macron and his supporters and the so-called EU.

I was listening to the news today and some of the stories I found shocking, drivers who can not speak any English and had run out of money were stranded, do they not have a mobile phone with a translate app? Do they come here with no credit card or a change of clothes in case there is a problem? Yes I get it that were coming over one day and heading back the next but what would happen if they had a major breakdown or got sick?
It is easy to point a finger at the government but they had little or no warning that the French were going to shut there borders and I think they have a lot going on at the moment. I wonder what the French would have done if the position had been reversed? My guess our drivers would have been left deserted. We need to stop trying to find the negative in every problem at the moment, the BBC are doing a good enough job of that with out us all jumping on the same bandwagon. No present day government had ever had to do this before and my guess if any of us were ask to try and sort this out we could have not done a better job. |

How many of us even thought about food and water for the lorry drivers?
I am sorry to say it had not occurred to me, why not, goodness knows why not, as it is obvious they would need support. macafee2 |

A lot of long distance lorry drivers cab is there second home, I have seen inside some and they dont ruff it, Satellite TV, Fridge, Heating, Microwave and a comfy bed. Yes I am sure they would prefer to be at home or at least on route to there home but with that kind of work traveling across borders in a pandemic has its risks. I bet in some parts of the world they would be arrested for even complaining.

They must be an amazing people. They even came down here to the Somerset Levels when we had The Great Floods. I'm not aware of a single Sikh in the whole of Somerset, but they came. They certainly were more help than Cameron and Farage who put in an appearnce that's for sure.
