AA man
Called to AA out this morning as the car wouldn't idle.
He did a bit of testing of fuel from pump and seeing it injectors were ok which the were. He took the EGR valve off to see if it was clean and the car started with the egr valve off. He put everything back and the car started again no problem idling nicely. He said he never did anything but have a look. I told him of the problems I've been having with the bad idling and cutting out but engine runs ok at higher rpm. Suggestion was to get a garage to do a diagnostic's check on the fuel. Has anyone any ideas what else it could be?

My recent fueling issues were completely resolved by cleaning out the EGR valve and inlet manifold. The EGR was shown to be sticking open during the live data diagnostic session, and after I used Arctic's guide to clean out the EGR and inlet (what a yukky job) and revisited the garage, it was absolutely perfectly in spec. Worth looking at I'd say Alf |
