The 800 was a much maligned car. I bought a three year old one (oxford blue) in 2000, and ran it as my everyday car until I bought my 75 Tourer in 2009. Never let me down, and had 125,000 on the clock when I let it go for peanuts to do a charity run across Europe, which it completed without a hitch. The lads who took it even bothered to lock it up when parked on the front in Monte Carlo amongst very exotic and expensive machinery - as if anyone would have stolen it! Should have kept it - I was only the second owner and apart from a tiny feathering of rust on the drivers wheel arch it was mint.

Certainly wasn't supplied new by Central Garages on that plate, as it's not a Devon registration. More likely an ex Avis or Hertz rental car that came back through the Rover used car locator system

MOT history isn't fantastic shows a lack of decent servicing and upkeep, had some rust issues as well.
Goes to show that all that glistens is not gold. Still looks good in the photos though...lol
