Does it clear when you use the demist/defrost button/setting?

!'d be interested in the cause of this as well. Mine has exactly the same problem (or behaviour if you would like) and haven't found the cause as of yet. No sunroof, no leakage of the front windscreen or any other leakage I could find (carpets dry).

So I will be following this thread with interest to see if someone has a bright idea what might cause it

Hi Rob & Jan (Sjonnie),

I had this a few years ago. The fresh air/recirculation flap (visible in the passenger footwell) should be in the recirculation position when the ignition is off. Mine wasn't so humid air was entering the car at all times. I found that a screw was missing in the flap lever linkage. Fitting one cured the misting.

Any moisture in the car (from wet feet or clothing) will cause misting on very cold days (especially on short journeys). I use the air con (if you have it) all year round to dehumidify the air/upholstery/carpets inside the cabin. +1 on the suggestion of flap in wrong position also. Adjusting the thumbwheel for fresh/recycled air may also help.

Run with air con on all the time and thumb wheel set to closed as in not fresh air, will have a look at this flap

You need some fresh air to replace the damp air in the car but when the outside humidity is very high, it takes longer to clear the moisture from the car.

Air con on all the time ????????

This can make the system switch on --recirculation.

The same damp air in the car goes round and round.---
