Just got my pics ready (had to work this morning, so time to polish car, shower, upload pics and now post here at last) And possibly a pic of the amazing hot chocolate I treated myself to mid morning (needed the energy! super hot day and a whole block of flats to window clean with hubby) Thanks for enlarging that pic! I couldn't work out how to post it bigger - so any info on that would be appreciated. x Last edited by TamarHolley; 22nd July 2014 at 16:35.. Reason: picture enlarged. Thanks! |

A fantastic car, I've seen it, spoken to Mark about it and followed the progress on the thread he started. Perhaps my favourite colour and a great specification. Really pleased it's found a good home.
That Hot Chocolate looks the biz too. |

The moonshine is a lovely colour.
Saw a guy with it in the form of a MKII ZR and it looked the business. Enjoy

Before this car I'd actually forgotten about Moonshine - must be pretty rare!
Glad it's going to be taken care of, and jealous of the hot choc.

Wow! Such bad luck!
I keep telling myself 'it's not the car, it's just one of those things.' We'll get her going again, and pray for a better outcome from now on! One consolation - replacement engines are easy to find and relatively cheap. And my brother gets them in within a day. (he's worked on this model several times and can almost do it in his sleep!) Waiting for that day impatiently though. My brother's father in law just had bladder removed, so he's tied up with him while he's in intensive care. He'll fit me and my car in when he can. And great to know where my exhaust is from! Cheers!

I would hazard a guess that this replacement would not be down to failure, but down to where the driveshaft bolts to the block
Could be wrong though.

The tapped holes that hold the driveshaft bolts are in my opinion very weak, you must torque up to the correct settings or they WILL strip, and they are not in the best position to start playing helicoil!
