I can only guess at how they managed to place the nuts.

The proper fixings work absolutely fine, if used properly. 1/4 turn each and they latch. Its gotta be better than endlessly turning numerous bolts to get them on or off.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Making them is fine. I was drawing attention to those who don't buy them or make them, then criticize MGR's design when the studs fall out.

I just cut a piece of plastic milk bottle to a rough circle, then push a hot iron through the centre. Using an iron, prevents them splitting.

Why do some people begrudge buying these washers then spend just as much on an inferior alternative?

Hi Simon.
Just compare the metal used in both /the genuine ones, more expensive ones given by the guys above vs these from the first thread post/.
Seen with the naked eye.
There is no difference how you will fit them as the metal used is very thin, weak/soft/mild

I wouldn't know as I can't get onto my back to work on the car, so I am reliant on others doing it for me.
They are a good garage and they look after my car which is the most important thing for me.

I prefer to use these what I make up myself, 10mm self tapers, 3/4 rubber tap washes, size 14 spries, 20mm stainless washers.

I know they are going to last and will withstand removal time and time again.

They can also be undone with a battery drill with a 10mm socket bit very fast.

For the front four I use these, added link below.

The steel the bolts are made from is very brittle, when I tried these the heads steered off them within two weeks.

I will have to see how they go. I made my "washers" using plastic milk bottle and didn't try making them round, as who is going to see them?
