Default For Sale: A Very Pampered V6 75 Tourer

In the three and a half years I have owned it, this car has had very significant sums of money lavished upon it. A box full of receipts and invoices is available to support this claim. With one single exception—see below—almost all the mechanical work and general servicing has been done by Colin (2Diesels). When needed, Brian (MarinaBrian) has looked after it electronically. If you are interested, I am certain that neither Colin nor Brian would mind being contacted for their opinions of the car. Sadly, I am forced to sell my ‘pride and joy’ largely because of serious health issues and the need for an automatic.

General

· Contemporary SE model (manual) with heated seats, auto dimming mirror, sunroof, factory fitted Xenons and lampwash, cruise and powerfolds (with chrome covers) etc. Two keys.
· Colour: Royal Blue (JFM)
· Ex MGR ‘fleet’ car with factory fitted duotone letter seats (the driver’s seat bolster was professionally repaired in February 2017)
· Facelift model, ’54 plate (BX54 HTL)
· 116,000 miles (but replacement engine has only done circa 90,000 miles)
· Oil changed circa every 6,000 miles
· MOT until 22nd December 2018 (no advisories).

Repairs/Renewals

· Engine swap, clutch and slave cylinder renewed (LUK parts), alternator replaced (genuine MGR), new thermostat, all belts renewed and general service in February of 2017 by Dave ‘Turbo Dave’ Johnstone of DJ Autos of Fence Houses (well over £1500 but was money very well spent)
·Master cylinder fitted later in 2017
· Complete rebuild and renewal of rear suspension (including professionally refurbished sub-frame, new anti-roll bar and bushes, springs, dampers, drop links, strut top mounts, both arms and all bolts replaced etc.)
· Front springs, drop links and strut top mounts replaced
·Stocktake VIS motors
· Usual upgrades: handbrake compensator, gold cooling fan resistor, loadspace/boot leaks sealed, Jules plenum guard, plenum chamber spy-hole etc. etc.
· Both rear lights replaced with new ones (two years ago)
· MTEC discs and Pagid pads all around
· Replaced rear heated screen/window with second-hand replacement one with all lines working
· All wheel bearings replaced
· Stainless coolant pipes fitted
· ‘BizzyLizzy’ coolant temperature gauge fitted to five-button panel
· Full size spare wheel with brand new Rainsport 3 tyre
· Longlife stainless steel exhaust

Cosmetic Work/Additions:

·Full machine polish and ‘ceramic lite’ coating by the Polishing Company (http://www.thepolishingcompany.com/) in February 2017
·No 'car park' dings in car - any that did exist have been professionally removed. Never been in an accident during my ownership and no evidence of such previously
· Genuine MGR premium bumper with a fully repaired/refurbished stainless grille surround by MarinaBrian Snr using stainless fittings/clips from Jeremy (Jezzer1)
·MGR Rover 75 V8 splitter, which is not normally fitted when the premium bumper was ordered as an option to non-V8 cars
· Professionally undersealed soon after purchase at Pristine Autos (Newcastle-upon-Tyne)
·LED side repeaters, which don't leak!
·Because of scratches in existing ones, both front side windows replaced with new ones (15 months ago)
· 325 mm (MGZT190) front disc upgrade
·MGR Power socket (with BMW torch) fitted in centre console with both required original MGR looms
· Genuine PPD walnut dash
· Walnut steering wheel and gear knob
· Underfloor polystyrene tool tray, with storage ‘bin’ and lid including additional tools, screwdriver and wheel chock etc.
· Doors, floor and boot covered with soundproofing
·Halo dashcam (have purchased new hardwire kit but have not fitted it yet) https://www.road-angel.co.uk/product/road-angel-halo
·Other PPD additions including long battery securing bolts, seat belt nut covers etc.
· Various walnut additions purchased from ‘Simon of Bulgaria’
· Navall 2 which I would replace if keeping the car (touch screen not responsive) but all main functions work fine, e.g. SatNav, telephone, CD player, radio etc.
· All loadspace interior panels replaced with new ones (with single exception of the tailgate panel) just after purchase
· Refurbed alloys (Starspokes) within the last 12 months. (Tyres are all Rainsport 3s)
·Genuine MGR tourer warning triangle
· Brand new MGR mats
· New ( about two years ago) genuine MGR dog-guard
·Reversing camera
· New (about two years ago) tonneau/loadspace cover with parcel net
· Sold with private plate: V9 ROV

Things to do?

· Driver’s heel pad/mat worn
· Slightly worn fabric trim from driver’s seatbelt (but can be covered with rubber ‘tubing’ purchased and used by many members on here)
· Loses one line on IPK in damp conditions
· A small number of stone chips
· See point about Navall 2 above

I’ll continue to update this advert over the next couple of days with other additions that I have not yet mentioned. Car is located 12 miles north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. It is currently taxed and insured. Without any obligation, you can PM with your email address and I’ll respond with various pictures.

Asking price: £2000 ovno.

Thanks for reading!

Dave
