I may have killed my 75
Hello,
2.0 cdti Brief rundown of issues..... She wouldn't turn over. Other members had this problem at the same time and the suggested solution was replace the contacts and plunger in the starter motor. Sent off for new parts. 2 weeks later no parts arrived so I bought a second hand starter motor on fleabay. Fitted it, car started. Next time I tried starting her she didn't turn over and there was clicking. At this stage the 'glow plugs on' message on the ipk was showing. Contacted Trikey, he suggested checking the megafuse in the under bonnet fuse box. (3 months after they were sent the replacement plunger and contacts arrived. Wrong size contacts and brown headed plunger instead of black.) Looked at the blade fuses, all ok, checked the megafuses with ohms on the multimeter, found the 100amp fuse for the glow plugs was blown, Replaced that, still no turnover.Trikey told me how to check the relays, couldn't pull any out, but when I pressed them down R4 clicked into place, car started. Went to shops and drove back ok. Next time out no turnover. Checked the megafuses again, 100 amp fuse had blown a second time. Put in a third, checked the blade fuses again, all ok. No turnover, no 'glow plugs on' message, and now the ipk is very dim as is the satnav display which is no longer showing any menu items. I've obviously done something wrong, but now I'm stuck for what to check next. Anybody got any ideas? Thank you.

Battery voltage 11.68
Bit of a struggle but managed to get my fingers in and push the wiring under the fuse box a bit. No turnover, no clicking.

Adrian you should have about 12.8v on a good battery, under 12.4v it will need charging ,if you get it running check the battery voltage on tickover you should be getting about 13.8v to 14.5v this will tell you the state of the alternator

Thanks Sean, I'm in the process of finding the battery charger as we speak
I think it's got lower cos of all the times I'm unlocking/locking as I try different ideas. I'll get the battery off and try again tomorrow.

How old is the battery 11.68v is pretty pants, opening and closing the doors shouldn't drop it that much.
