Default Bumper painting costs?

A dozy old NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- in a Focus reversed into the side of me today (while I'm sat in the car) scuffed the paint off along the side of the rear bumper.

He's offering cash to paint the bumper, and he's the age where driving is a bit of a lifeline, so I'd rather not dob him in to the insurers...

What's a typical price for painting a rear bumper (silver)? On or off the car. No apparent plastic damage, it's just taken the paint off down to the black substrate.

Yes that will cover it as long as there is no plastic damage.

Personally I would remove it and they will do a better job.

I would have said closer to £250 for a bumper if no damage other than paint, but as I said to the bloke who's young next door neighbour reversed into his 75 killing the front wing, ask what £300 compares to their insurance excess

Try sourcing another bumper in the same colour you will get on for less that the £250 plus it could cost to paint, you can still use your car while you wait to find one, or it arrives, then just unbolt your damaged one add the second hand one job sorted what colour code is your car ?

£150 - £250 Yeah I wish!

Depends on where you live I suppose, down here its £300 rear and £500 front for a ZT bumper.

Had my rear bumper sprayed about a year ago and was charged £100.. I think he did a good job of it.

My front bumper is actually being prepped for spraying on Monday, and together with a new grill & head lamp polish it's costing just under £800!

Thankfully it's all being done under insurance.

Unless it was intentionally molested left to right from A to Z . You can have a home visit at your convenience for less than £100.

If you are wanting to address other non accident related issues with your bumper, I cant help

However if you want a John Lennon job, best of luck and it would be nice to see

Get a couple of hundred Quid from him, he's happy no insurance claim you are happy and have something to do.
with a few Quid in your back pocket

It isn't a RTA so give no details keep your trap shut and clean your car while the guy is painting it.

Some years ago a typical peasant put a dent in my f/n/s wing when she opened her door, She was begging me to not involve the insurance ! within 24 hours she paid me £200 Ive still got the dent (cameras ,pictures, video audio etc etc)

Best of luck
I don't actually understand half of that.
I must be getting old.
