Default Powerfold mirrors

Hello there

It seems impossible to source LHD powerfold mirrors so my only option would be to try and make RHD mirrors fit.
Which would be child's play if non-powerfold and powerfold stanchions were the same. Unfortunately, I haven't found enough information to confirm that. On some pictures, I've seen that the powerfold stanchions have a metal pin rising upwards, I can't remember my non-powerfold stanchions having that. On the other hand, looking at pictures of the powerfold motor, I can't see the need for that pin.

Shortly, has anyone fitted their RHD powerfold mirrors on their RHD non-powerfold stanchions? That would mean RHD powerfolds would also fit onto my LHD stanchions.

Cheers
Andre

Have you tried these sites?

olx.pt
Ebay.de
Milanuncios.com

You'll need to find out the right words in the right language but I've sourced parts from all sites.

And it looks like Rimmers do new...

Thanks. Yes, Rimmers do these new, at £400 a set.

I don't speak Portuguese, Spanish or German, unfortunately. I've looked on eBay and have found from new and old listings that parts from Germany and Denmark etc tend to be a lot more expensive than from the UK where these cars are more common.

I believe the mirrors themselves are all the same. I would only need some hints or actual confirmation that powerfold motors sit correctly on non-powerfold stanchions before making a purchase to find out otherwise.

i have asked paul about this and he says that if youre present mirrors are bullitt type and they should be looking at the year of your car then yes it is easy to swop powerfold mirror heads into youre own lhd stanchions. hes done this on severel cars over the years.

he did a how-to with pictures on this club somewhere but i cant find it at the moment.

Thanks Wesley. I don't know why I didn't think of asking Paul in the first place, I'll email him.

EDIT: Talked to Paul and he kindly led me to the how-to he wrote years ago

That answers the questions.
