I've improved mine a lot today by installing a screen mount aerial vertically up the side of the rear window. I tapped in to the power supply for the diversity amplifier, and also connected in to the coax for the original amp to get the signal down to the front of the car. Its much better, but still not as perfect as the symphony was. The sound quality of MP3's on the other hand is much much better, so more than compensates for the radio's shortcomings.

The fact that this worked, proves that the problem is with my aerial and not with the unit itself. I just need to find a better amplification for the signal.
hi mycar is a W reg 2000, there was no smaller conection on mine. it looks as though it is your aerial thats the problem.

if you didnt have the smaller connection then you mustn't have had the diversity amplifier on the rear screen. That's my problem. I think that without an IF signal supplying the amp its not working as it should. What I really need is a non diversity amp as was fitted to Harmony set ups and later symphonies.

Hi,

Is it hard to change my high line navigation system with the Hualingan system?
Or is it just plug & play?

Does anybody already did this?
I searched the forum but didn't find anything.

Kind Regards,

Olivier

Got some reasonable radio now, it seems to get better after a few minutes and the noise reduces. Still something wrong there though. It may be something to do with my Symphony Aerial amplifier on the back pillar, because I did have a problem with that some years ago when I had a new rear screen fitted. There was a 2 pin connector from the screen going in to a 6 pin one on the amplifier. I notice that the unit has an output called "AMP control" so I need to investigate what that does.

Played a few tracks from USB OK though so I confirmed the sound system is pretty impressive, far superior to the SYmphony, with much better bass.

I chatted with Cathy yesterday and it seems that that now have TMC, RDS and rear IPOD connection, BUT they have a problem with the TV, which does not worry me as I have a separate DVT-B unit, so it looks like I will be ordering one now

Default Rds/tmc.

Hi Tony Fry, Your post says the unit now has TMC/RDS now working but a problem with the tv. Like you I am waiting for these features before ordering. Have they got the new unit ready to ship and can we get over the tv problem with an e.bay DVB/T box?. Thanks, John.
