Our cars are getting rare
First time I can remember there are no rover 75s for sale in our locality ( Western Australia )
I know, your saying " your in Australia" yep!!, but ever since owning a rover 75 back in 2005 there's always been some for sale . Seems there either getting bought up by collectors or disappearing into sheds or maybe just being parted out.? Whilst never having the quantities in the Uk, we did have a few sold here. I notice there still a few for sale in the eastern states though. Given all this, the prices will now start to go up I think. |

I bought my 2003 kv6 Connie in 2005 , 30k km on the clock and paid about $37,000 Aud at the time.
Still got that one, it's been looked after but just keeps going and has never let me down, even now with 235k on the clock I still use that car for any country trips down to the holiday house . Just replace anything that needs doing and it keeps going. |

With GM closing Holden down, your question will pop up again in a few years time.

Interestingly there will still be Holden(GMH) but they won't be designing and making local models. All the cars I think will arrive out of GMs new china plant, probably be generic models that are sold world wide and fitted out here for local conditions.
We had the most amount of car brands on offer here than anywhere in the world which is crazy considering we only have 22 million people. Ford and Toyota have done the same thing, our wages are to high and globalisation marches on. Add to that thel locals love affair with cheap Korean imports and there you have it. Less people want an expensive set of wheels now days, they just want a cheap reliable car to get them from A to B. Last edited by genpk; 28th June 2017 at 22:34.. |

That is not unique to Australia but is happening all over, we have a lot here in the UK but last year I was in Canada and it is happening there as well. Try hiring a North American car in North America, I was offered Kia's, Huandai. In the end a local company came up trumps but they did ask why?
