I bought a twin tone P5 coupe at Frimley British Car Auctions in late '73. It had 2.400 miles on the clock, absolutely as new, Chrome Rostyles, every conceivable extra.

One previous owner John Paul Getty. It had been an 'Estate Car' at Wormsley Park, used for ferrying guests to and from Heathrow by chauffeur. They decided to replace it with a P6 V8, as the P5 was looking a bit dated. The dealer on the new car 'Henlys', didn't want to take it in part exchange!

Oil had just gone through 400% - the price including fees £810!

I still see it - in my dreams ...

This car belongs to the Queen. She used it as her personal 'runabout' when she was out on her own. It is now in Gaydon.

They also have Chrysler LWB people carriers.

Same as above but again with a custom V6, armor plating, bullet proof windows, unburstable and flame proof tyres and such. Good wagons and sound excellent strangly enough.

Unless its a Royal visit then its the Range Rovers as escort with the police spec V8s and 1/2 inch bullet proofing, Bentleys with her guards and entorage, and the custom 2002 Bentley state thats kept over here for her highness that runs on LPG. Similar to below except a black with a blue hue to it.

Cant reveal how ive learnt this obviously, but it was work releated but most of it is common knowledge anyways over here. LOL.
Sorry, but RPG proof and windows that will take a 7.62?

The old RPG 7 could get through side armour on an FV-432 and non reactive Warrior side armour, and that was ancient fragmented jet technology.

The latest RPG 22/29 can penetrate the M1 Abrams main battle tank, all 60+ Tonnes of it. As the Americans found out the hard way several years ago.

Regards the windows, keeping out 7.62 AK rounds fine, but NATO? 7.62 NATO ball will defeat ceramic armour chest plates with ease, so a polycarbonate window, even one build to UL-8 spec, would have to be going some.

There must have some stonking improvements lately, because up until a very few years ago, that level of protection simply wasn't possible in a visually civilian vehicle.

Must agree. Someone go sit in the back of the Bentley and I´ll fire a RPG 7 (me being ancient) at it at 30 meters Better still, ask Clarksson to sit in the back

The (then) standard 7.62 Nato round (70´s) probably go through the Bentlys door. Fire a GPMG at it from 100 meters and the inside would be a right old mess

I'll never forget watching a GMPG turn a double skin breeze block wall to talcum powder on a firepower demonstration many years ago.

They then turned it on a 45 gallon drum that was full of water. You can imagine the weight in it.

Old Jimpy made that ****** dance up and down the range. Scary stuff.

Now we have a new PM and cabinet who are not perhaps quite to all our tastes, we the public have a duty to lend our full support and help in overcoming the extremely dark times ahead. Compromise was reached but, if it's indeed for our countries good then lets all sing in harmony for a change. (Literally). We do as well to remember whomsoever is in power right now has a very unenviable job ahead and possibly will be extremely unpopular as a result.
We all make compromises in our lives and marriages, at work etc so bite the bullet and take the unpleasant meds to cure our financial sickness whatever it takes. I would only ask all members to give full support now we have change in our government, which after all WE did ask for, and stop all the infantile bickering and back biting, just get on with the job. Mike .... ok I know ...
Ps: A fiscally limited pensioner btw.
