Its a very nice place nice walk along the river and down the old tramway past Stevens cottage into Wylamd and a good few pubs there as well.

Directions to the place:
From the SouthFrom the A1 take the 2nd slip raod after the Metro Centre (sign posted Consett, Newcastle, Blaydon A694). Continue on the A694 for Newcastle, Blaydon until a left turn for Scotswood Bridge, Newcastle A695. Keep left over the bridge taking the slip road for Morpeth(A1). You will soon approach a roundabout. At this roundabout take the first sign posted Newburn. Remain on this road for approximately 2 miles. From the NorthFrom the A1 take the sign posted A695, Blaydon. This exit will bring you to a roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout taking the last exit sign posted Newburn. Remain on this road for approximately 2 miles. From the AirportFollow the signs to Newcastle A696 as far as a right turn at a large roundabout for the A1 South. Then follow our directions from the North (above). From Newcastle the East or the North Sea Ferries Once in Newcastle follow signs to Jedburgh and the Airport (A696). On arrival at the large roundabout over the A1 on the west of the City, head south and follow the directions from the North. From the WestTravelling East along the A69,turn right onto the A1 heading South. Remain in the left hand slip lane which is sign posted A695, Blaydon. You will soon approach a roundabout. Turn right at the rounabout taking the last sign posted Newburn. Remain on this road for approximately 2 miles. Due to the regularity of meetings in August,I think I'll put this one on hold until the beginning of September,otherwise its going to be too close to the Lakeland one, and as 1 member I know can't make the last weekend in August,might as well wait until September.
So put a provisional date down for Sunday 4th September,meet up about 12-12.30. Will confirm nearer the time, if its still the same or changed.
