Default Audio Controls

Evening,
The audio controls on the steering wheel in my car are not working. Any suggestions as to where to start checking and how to fix them?
Regards David

2001 model, should be hard wired steering wheel controls.

What type of head unit is fitted?

Hello Steve,
Thanks for the diagrams.
Where do I start?
Is there a "how to" check/repair audio controls?
or I've had this problem as well....clean the terminal????....
Any thoughts?
Regards David

Have you done anything to disturb the wiring/connectors? This "might" help

If not, do the same at the white connector under the steering wheel, if still no change it probably is a problem with the rotary coupler.

Morning Steve,
I bought the car about a month ago and the audio controls on the steering wheel have never worked.
