Fitted one of these to replace a broken one, then adjusted the handbrake, it’s just about on the last adjustment so I’ll order some new rear discs them replace the shoes while I’m doing the job.

Got two coats of primer onto the outside of the new rear upper arms.

Quite frankly embarrassing that the zinc spray primer used on the additional fettling welds I had done stuck far better than the factory black paint...

Had my ZT-T running today for the first time since October 2015 when I started possibly the longest-running engine transplant project ever.

It's been emotional.

There is work to do but I am pleased it's all running, albeit with a little topend ticking and slight misfire which I hope I can figure out - maybe a sticking tappet?

The traction control seems to have decided that nearly five years in a warm dry garage was a good reason to pack in, but all the other electrics seem happy enough.

Considering I have fitted new cambelts and water pump, a new clutch and clutch slave cylinder, a Jules fan and a new aircon condensor, I am quite pleased (so far).

Whilst it was warm decided to remove the rear jacking pads and then give the sills a good coat of rust preventative wax - I like the Bilt and Hamber products. I thought about doing the rear wheel arches as well but I'll need to order some new plastic nuts and then if I need to wire brush and treat before painting then I can't just nip out and get them, although not using the car much so I might just take them off and clean everything up and see what I need to do.

Then waited for the sun to go off of it so that I could give it a good wash

Not been out the house for two weeks so had a bit of a potter in the garage with the mini. I started the tourer up and then replaced the rear tailgate interior trims and replaced the broken load cover handle with a spare used one I had. My father in law lives next door and mentioned that when he moved the 75 to get the bins out it made a strange noise, nipped round and had a quick look whilst nobody was about and his drivers front spring has snapped.
