Default How to wire up rear tweeters?

Hi, I really am a novice when it comes to wiring, but I have a spare set of tweeters after upgrading my front ones to hk, so could anyone give me clear instructions as to what wire i need and where the wires go!
Any help would be appreciated :-)

Have you already fitted the HK ones or are you wanting to integrate the spare tweeters along with the rest of the system?
Do your rear doors have the tweeters, as lots didn't.

If they are original tweeters then they should have all the connections/cables fitted. The plug just plugs into the Socket already in the Rear Speakers and then clip into the recesses in the Door Card.

Basically plug and play - unless of course whoever supplied you the H-K Tweeters didn't give you the Cables!!! In that case it's a bit of a pain...... Ask Pab, I beleive he knows how this is done.

NB. Make sure you have a couple of spare Trim Clips for the Door Card as usually some get broken when removing. There are 3 different types used.

2 X http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-EKM100270 1 in each Door Card
8 X http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-EKM100100 4 in each Door Card
6 X http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-EKM100090 3 in each Door Card

They are all different lengths, so if you want no rattles or loose Cards, replace like for like if broken.

Good luck!

Sorry I i wasn't clear alan, i bought 2 front hk tweeters And just replaced the front tweeters, s I have the front old tweeters that I can now fit in the back (I'm sure there are none fitted) but the mounts are supposed to be there, i need to know how to run the wires from th speakers to the tweeters as I have read there is no wiring in place. Cheers.

This is how the tweeters are wired.

They are wired in parellel to the existing bass speaker.

So, just add your tweeter wires to the bass speaker wires.

Hi Mark,

as you will see mine came with the cables with the proper plugs on either end, small black one go into the Tweeter and the bigger white ones into the Speaker.

I'm sorry I really couldn't say which side of the Tweeter to connect to the Speaker Cables as you have to get the Polarity right or they won't work properly.

I can say that the Tweeters do just clip into the recesses in the Door Card very easily though.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help.
