T4 question regading IPK
If I was to install a brand new IPK which is a KMH version, after it's been programmed on T4 will the odometer display the mileage correctly, or will it show as kilometers? I know the speedo dial will be fine as the scale is the same as the MPH one, I'm just a little concerned that there will be issues with the odometer mileage.
I want to be sure that after swapping and T4 it will show 81k miles, same as it does now and that it will record miles correctly (i.e. not increase the number by 1 for every kilometer instead of every mile!)

The IPK is a display and nothing more. You can swap the faces over from your existing IPK if you want the MPH scale to be prominent, rather then KMH

Yes, for the speedo that's what I will do, swap the dials. My concern is over the car mileage - I know that's not just a display, as it stores the data to compare with the LSM... question is, can the way it stores data (i.e. miles or kilometers) be set by T4 or is it fixed within the IPK itself?

I think the IPK's readout is set according to T4 options. There are language set-ups for the car and, depending on country, will depend on what is displayed.
So - when programmed to your car the new IPK should display MPH as that is the default distance unit in the UK. |

Well, I did it. Converted the "KMH white backlit" IPK I had into an "MPH blue backlit" IPK (and odometer converted to blue also, of course!) Went over to EMS this morning to have it programmed to the car on T4, with no problems
The reason for this is that I'd tried to convert the message centre on my previous one to be blue backlit, however the problem was that the only blue/red bicolour LEDs I could source didn't have a bright enough blue, so the writing was really hard to read. So now I have a message centre that's back to normal!
