Default Screwdriver Problem

I have a very old large Steadfast screwdriver with a chrome shaft and yellow translucent plastic handle. Over the last year or so the shaft that is inside the handle has rusted and the surface of the plastic handle sweats. If I wipe the handle with a rag the wet surface returns in a few days. The handle smells a bit like ammonia. I stopped using this screwdriver as soon as I noticed the problem and I have put a plastic bag over the handle until I resolve the problem or bin it! I am not aware of spilling anything on the screwdriver or immersing it in any fluid. I cannot consult Steadfast as they no longer exist.

From your description of the smell and the handle sweating, it sounds like the handle has not had enough accelerator in the plastic mix. The sweating usually occurs when resin and hardener are used without the magic juice. It usually occurs when an unusual colour pigment is used as the pigments have accelerator in them but all colours have different amounts.
Wear gloves when using it

If you wait long enough, the yellow plastic handle will disintegrate
