If you look at the photo with the two filters side by side (15) you will notice the difference in the construction of the filters. The one at the top of the photo, looks like the original filter used by the factory. The lower one is a cheaper edition. I don’t know why it was changed but, I have still got the original which I wash with white spirit, then use my wife’s hair dryer to dry it out and use next time it needs changing.

Well if you have to ask where that is on these!, get it sorted pretty sharpish. Chances are it has never been service/changed!
To be fair this was never part of the service schedule

Hi Dave.
The new filter in the photo is an original, how have they changed in the picture ? the old one looks thicker because it as swelled up with oily gunk, there are some that are not the best, so always wise to shop around and find a good source

Hi Steve. The one in the top of the photo looks like the original type of filter. What we used to call the cotton reel. It used to be made of what looked like string? The lower one is a replacement one made of I don’t know what really. The lower one is the only type available now as you know. And yes, as usual, the quality varies, so you have to watch what you buy.
