I'm really struggling with this job, and have probably now created a bigger problem for myself.

Guessing that if I've spilt power steering fluid on the alternator that it will probably be goosed.

Hi Ben
It will certainly not do it any good, maybe you could wash it of with carb cleaner, or engine degreaser, and a good air line.

Aviation long spanner is also good to use, but it does need the end grinding thinner a little, as above use a wedge if your spanner is slipping off, it's also easier if you cut the belts off if you are changing both, if not just cut the one you are changing.

Not for the first time in my life I'm feeling a bit fed up and frustrated with myself for not covering it properly. Oh well. Learn the hard way . . again.
